And 9 inches of length is shrunk to the length of what would be an atom ...

So 1:15billion model of observable universe

In this model

Light travels at the speed of a crawling ant,

But a motor vehicle on the highway travels at the speed a child’s head ascends from growing taller...about 2 inches per year

In this case the moon is 1 inch away about 1 light-second (ant crawls that speed) and the child grows an inch in 6 months time ... and that’s the car taking about 6 months of driving linearly in space to get from earth to the moon

Distance to the Orange sun from the Bibi is blue tooth range about 33 feet or almost 1 meter of distance

And alpha Centauri is 4 light years away that’s now rescaled to just being the distance from Miami to Minneapolis and roughly the carrying of many mosquito viruses .... it would take a kid growing the length of Miami to Minneapolis over 55 million Years

Even in this shrunken universe ...
the diameter of the Milky Way would STILL be reduced to a distance not so tiny ....(and that’s where the massive size of our universe gets freaky) about 93 million miles Of what’s INSIDE THE downscaled MODEL itself ...
(So the actual literal distance of earth to the sun outside the model .... in the shrunken model where the Bibi earth to Orange sun is actually 33 feet, is 93 million miles ), this dwarfs even a 6ft human outside the model despite an advantage of being 15Billion times enlarged relative to the modeled universe !

And the observable universe would be the distance in the model of actually the distance from Bibi earth to Alpha Centauri model distance

Wow is this universe big !!!!!

Even in this insane rescaling: where a human outside the model is about 1/6th the distance of the Bibi earth to the Orange sun .... 6ft of the 33ft I mentioned above ...

What can be scaled down to the equivalent size of Earth inside the model where sun is drawn the size of an Orange fruit .... would be a bunch of interstellar space and some star systems but all within only our own galaxy. Our solar system lying within someone’s farm yard and nearest star being 1700 miles away

Thanks for sharing. Just a couple of days ago, I was reading posts on Quora about the size of the observable universe, if the Earth were reduced to size of an atom. I’m not going to link it, in case it breaks this site’s T&C, but it’s quite easy to find.

Basically, if the Earth were the size of an atom (doesn’t really matter which one), the observable universe would be several times bigger than our Sun.

What makes it even more impressive, is that our entire universe is likely much larger than the visible part. There have been various size estimates provided over the years ranging from 250 times the diameter, 10^23 times to a mind boggling 10^{10^{10^122}} Mpc (mega parsecs). It could very well be infinite in extent.

Actually,I think it should be even bigger than that. If we take the Milky Way as being 100k light years (which is the usual value considered), then the observable universe at 93 billion light years is 930 000 times wider. The distance between the Earth and Sun is 1AU, which is equivalent to the Milky Way in your model, whereas Proxima Centauri at 4.2 light years is around 270 000 AU. According to this scale, the observable universe should stretch out for approximately 14.3 light years.

It’s triple the distance of 4.2 light years ....amazing!!!

Just a quick question though, what is a Bibi?

The bullet of a BB Gun. But it actually depends on the BB gun. The bullet ball I was going by is a ball with a diameter of a few millimeters or 1/10th of an inch . So the flying bug that can wrap/crawl around it 7 times in one second pretty much encircles the entire ball. More than 1 million of those balls should be able to fit in an Orange
