According to Business Insider. BTW, Seattle/Tacoma/Bellevue is #8...I'm not very surprised by that, but why Spokane?

You have an answer/reason that is acceptable to you for #8 but you're genuinely perplexed about #6? OK.

However you came to a conclusion for #8 you should turn around and apply that logic to #6, we're all just Realtors here...not criminologists.

The answer for #8 was illiterated in an article in the Seattle Times. Thank you for your friendly response, though, have a great day!

Yeah, I agree. I didn't see the report, but two-places-different in a city ranking seems almost insignificant. Washington has notoriously-high property crime rate, for some reason. And clearly, based on the OP's citation, it has more to do with the state as a whole than with Spokane alone.

I blame the liberal justice system in our state, but that's probably just my biased opinion.

Car theft is such a strong term... it's called "car sharing". Each car is driven by a different person every day on a first come first stea... I mean... serve basis. It's very 21st century!

I'm going to offer a somewhat different explanation. Spokane is one of the most isolated mid-sized cities in the west. Think about it. Spokane is the largest city between Seattle and Minneapolis, and as such attracts non-violent crime from a wide area. I'm not a criminologist OR a realtor, but that is my theory FWIT.
