This is a rare opportunity for the winner NOT to have to compete with 2 of the top 3 to WIN.

My bet is on Federer ofcouse.

I wonder why Federer was not more excited when he beat Djokovic. That's his biggest hurtle to overcome to win this Wimbledon.

Federer won.

Any Murray won't have another chance (having only to beat 1 of the top 3, instead of having to beat 2 of the top 3) like this again to win a Gand Slam, untill a couple years from now when Federe retires. But, by then, there is no guaranteed that there won't be a new top 3 that exclude Murray.

With Murray I think there's always a great chance that he would fold, he was never one to keep his composure for long.

Damn, old-man Federer did it again! He seems like a different player from the last couple of years, back to form I suppose.
Nothing short of amazing -- Congrats! Hopefully this will be indicative of more wins.

I think, listening to the post-game commentators, that too much was made of Federer's age. With todays advances in sports nutrition and training, athletes dont suddenly become obselete the moment they hit 30 now. This guy still has plenty of tennis ahead of him.

No bashing here, I thought he played a heck of a match. Federer was just better.

He is obviously a good player as he is in the top 6. But, the top 3 are at a different league.

For some reason, I really like Tsonga though.

Federer probably has another 2 years where he will be in strong contention every tournament he is in. I think he will win another major and then be done. Tennis is a physically demanding sport and winning a major gets tougher as you get older and slower. A player really only has say 8-10 years max where they are at the point where winning a major is likely. Compare that to say golf and the average player will have 20 plus years to win one.

+1 , the dour scot ( even by his countrys standards ) put in a good show throughout the tournament , he was never in with a realistic chance of beating one of the big guns
