Fight After Cowboys Vs Chargers Game! (Smashing Each Other With Beer Bottles)

Quote:
SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants and Dodgers fans gathering for Thursday's night final game of the season denounced the stabbing death of a 24-year-old man Wednesday night and said violence in an otherwise heated but friendly rivalry is the work of a few bad characters.
After a confrontation and two separate fights with a group that included a man in a Giants hat, Jonathan Denver, a Fort Bragg plumber's apprentice who was wearing a Dodgers jersey, was stabbed about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday under the freeway at Third and Harrison streets, about four blocks from AT &T Park, where the Giants had beaten the Dodgers about 90 minutes earlier.
No one else was injured.
A San Francisco Police spokeswoman said Michael Montgomery, 21, of Lodi, has been arrested on suspicion of killing Denver. Police have also detained another man for questioning and continue to look for two others and the murder weapon, San Francisco police Chief Greg Suhr said Thursday.http://www.mercurynews.com/giants/ci...iants-game-san

I think you are talking about isolated incidents of violence at sporting events. The level of violence at sporting events is a lot less when compared to Europe and their soccer games.

It was worse in the 1970s and 1980s. Beer was cheaper. Seats were cheaper. Stadiums had more common men rather than the employee of the month and VP at Boeing.

Many fans are consuming a lot of alcohol before entering the stadiums because they don't want to spend $7 for a cup of beer and many stadiums stop selling alcohol during the last quarter/period. Alcohol = liquid courage. That's why every NFL game has dozens of 'event staff' people in yellow wind breakers. Many stadiums now have 'family' areas so they are segregated from the drunks.

It must be a west coast and or east coast thing, thug related.. Of the games that I attend, no such violence can be found.

It's just a damned game. I don't understand this kind of behavior.

Sports tend to attract those who don't have much going for themselves other than their affiliation with a team and/or city, so their level of passion tends to go past that of a fan with a career, family, and other things which are truly worth "fighting" for.

Lots of drinking occurs at these events so you'll hear plenty of isolated incidents of fights breaking out between fans... the booze brings no fear to anyone and everyone becomes a sh*t talker.... some people have fun with it... others take offense to things and then want to fight.

Gotta love beer muscles...

My boss has season tickets for the Browns, and went to the game last night. He said the Bills fans were causing all sorts of trouble, being obnoxious and saw more fights than at a Browns-Steelers game. I can attest to that, because I went to a Browns-Bills game in 95 for a Monday night game and sat by a ton of Bills fans. There were a ton of fights at that game too.
