more universities should cut sports- they are first and foremost institutions of higher learning-not minor leagues for NFL,NBA, MLB, and MLS.

Yes they are, but athletics (well... really just a handful of them) are some of the biggest money makers. They're also the entry for most athletes to become pro.

College isn't ONLY about academics, you know...
