Very interesting, and slightly unusual in that most sports stars are usually retired or at the end of their careers when they get one. (eg cricketers in the British Commonwealth)

Plenty have got it before retirement.

I am slightly annoyed he took it. Not because I am a Scottish independence supporter - just that I hate the Honour system.

He could have refused like the legends John Lennon, David Bowie, Danny Boyle, Stephen Hawking, Peter Higgs, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, Jon Snow, Paul Weller, John Cleese.
