Someone sent me a clip of last years longest drive contests. the competitors were smashing around 400yards. is that figure correct? do these guys make any bread?

While drives of 400yds or over happens, they typically range in the 350-370 range.

As for payouts - I think the Remax one pays 100K to the winner (maybe more now?).... and its considered the premier LD contest - so my guess is that the others pay less.

i first came across a video of mike dobbyn smashing 551 yards and i thought there is no way on earth i could beat that. on closer inspection i saw that last years winning drives were around 400. i'm somewaht of a hacker playing off 10 but i often drive par 4's so perhaps i'll give it a shot. thanks for the input
