I work from home and I'm considering moving to Ozark from the Chicago suburbs. Is there reliable internet in that area? It's important since I can't work without it. I know that internet access is available. My question is in terms of reliability since it's a more rural community than I'm used to. Thank you for any input!

Your options will depend on your address. I would start with this list and go from there:

Thank you! I did look at that already which is why I'm wondering about reliability. I was hoping to get some experiences from people who live there.

I work on a desk top PC. I'm wondering whether there is a problem with connectivity? Are there outages? Is it slow? That kind of thing.

Not sure, Verizon seems to have good rep as a phone provider... it's speedy enough for me, but I don't live down there. I'm there for vacations and such so I can't testify that it always works, just when I was there it does

We have Centurylink for Internet. No complaints here.

Don't get involved with Hughesnet. They're awful to work with.

CenturyLink was terrible they completely botched my setup, I spent several hours on the phone with them after my internet was supposed to have been activated and they had no idea what was going on and kept arguing with me. They never got it activated, I sent the equipment back and they didn't charge me.

I'm currently with HughesNet since there are no other cable providers in my area, it's great for just internet browsing but it won't stream anything or play YouTube videos.
