Looking to get a bike of some sort to ride around my neighborhood for exercise and fitness purposes. Can you recommend a shop? I was told department store (Wal-mart, Target, etc) bikes suck so I would just prefer to go to a bike dealer. Thanks!

I would actually look online. Obviously you have to assemble it yourself when it arrives but it's not that hard. My husband and I bought Schwinns earlier in the year online and they arrived perfectly, and were more affordable than the same product at a local bike shop (we were in NC at the time). Just do your research first, and know what size you need etc! Good Luck!

Yeah I thought about that, but problem is I don't know what kind of bike I need. I'll have to do some research. Looking forward to some winter riding if winter ever shows up

My wife bought her bike (Specialized Vita) at Sunset Cyclery in Sunset Hills. They were great helping her select her bike and didn't try putting any pressure on the upsale. We liked them so much we bought our sons bike (Specialized Hotrock) from them about a month ago. They also have free service on bikes bought there. I bought my bike from somebody else because they don't sell Trek, but I take it there for service since the prices are fair. I would reccomend checking them out.

Well I checked out one place today. I'm not going to name it as I don't want to give them bad press in case it was an isolated incident. But basically what happened was I told the guy I was looking to spend around maybe $300 - $500 on a decent bike for exercise purposes. I don't want a crappy bike but not trying to win Tour De France either, just looking to exercise around my own neighborhood. He's trying to tell me I need a $1500 dollar bike to do this. Whatever

The search continues.
