Okay, I've seen and heard this street spelled and pronounced both ways. I think the street signs are officially "Morgan Ford," but a lot of the addresses when I Google it say "Morganford." And then there's the nickname "MoFo." Is there any rhyme or reason to the distinction or is it just based on personal preference?

I've personally always thought of Morganford as one word. I think I've seen Kingshighway occasionally spelled as two words, too.

In the book "Streets of St. Louis: a History of St. Louis Street Names" by William & Marcella Magnan, Morganford is spelled as one word. They offer up this description (paraphrased): The land on the western boundary of Carondelet by River Des Peres was owned by James Morgan. The road leading to the property was called Morgan's Ford (with a "ford" being a shallow point in the river). The name was eventually changed to Morganford, but was also called "The Old Winding Road" at one time.
