My family recently moved to Sappington and my children will attend Sappington Elementary next school year.
I would like to have my kids involved in some way this summer and want to specifically target activities that will include children from Sappington Elementary. My children are rising 3rd and 4th graders.
What is popular for children at Sappington Elementary to be involved in during the summer (and even during the school year)?
Please just answer as though everything will be back to normal this summer. I am just trying to get a feel for what I could possibly sign my kids up for so that they can maybe make a connection or two before the school year actually begins, but it will be nice to know what activities are available during the school year as well.

Since you seem to have gotten no reply, I will take a stab at it -- although it may be irrelevant now in the current situation.

I live in Sappington, also. I do not have children in the schools but, as a retired teacher, the topic interests me. For that reason, I have asked many a neighbor who does have children in the neighborhood schools and they are quite happy with their schools. Sappington Elementary gets good comments as does Lindbergh where most of the older children go. A few in our apartment complex go to Afton, just east of Sappington. That district also gets high praise. To be honest, in the twelve years I have lived in Sappington, I have never been given a negative reply from any parent.

Extracurricular activities. Observing children in the building where I live, I can say that, yes, they do have many such and -- smile --- they are not all sports. One girl took violin lessons at school. I saw several older students with musical instrument cases. Two smaller children were always showing off things they did. Another was interested in art classes. I list those because you asked if they'd be able to "get involved" Anything that brings together a group will bring involvement. Meaning make friends, learning social skills, which I am sure you are wanting.

There are, no doubt, many more such. Like everybody, I notice things connected to my own enjoyments. And, yes, there are plenty of sports and they start early. I have actually been inside Sappington to ask a first-grade teacher to recommend some books for a child of that reading level. She was very helpful. I might also add that I have high respects for the security they took while allowing me in.

Good luck.

Something has changed here. I am getting messages that I have a new DM. However, I cannot bring it up. It is all different in that section. I am sorry if I seem to ignore it. Hazel
