Hello, im new to this web site.Been reading everybodys threads. Im a 50 yr. old female. weigh245lbs. 5ft.9. I have been suffering with acid reflux since may 2010.Im tired,so tired. Ive tried prilosec,nexium and etc. they work for a while then the acid reflux comes back.Thay kept me constipated, i gained 20-30lbs. Plus i was having sharp pains in my abdomen.Itried every home remedy you can think of,not working.I changed my diet i lost 11lbs. I was weighing 256lbs.No matter what i eat, and i do eat healthy,it comes up.During the day im ok, at night before bed,im miserable. I stay up every night at 5:00am. in the morning for 2weeks now. I seen different doctors.I dont know if its the gas or acid backing back up in my esophogus. What ever it is its a rushing pressure in my chest, very heavy pressure. And it scares me to death i sit up all night. My last meal is at 6:00p.m. I normally would go to bed at 11:30pm. Since the acid reflux i stay up til 5:00am. in the morning.Can any one help me with good and working advice? Thank-you

I don't know if there are any doctors on this forum but you might be better served posting your question here;

See a doctor. You may have multiple issues.

For me, diet, no matter how bland, did not work. All of the famous PPIs - Nexium, Prilosec, Prevacid, and generic omeprazole worked for me. Right now, the cheapest if Prevacid from Amazon at 0.23/tablet.

Don't let it get out of control. The chest pains that can come as a result of GERD are more unpleasant that the stomach pains.
