Interestingly, it didn't improve over time after new software. Though it appears after a ECU reset and remap it improves but after 400 miles later it goes back to being just as crappy. Apparently its irreversable long term issue. We ruled out any other mechanical issue and find it entirely a control issue.

These days the accelerator can take almost a full second or even more to respond and it just all of a sudden lurches and jerks as opposed to smoothly accelerate. Even when it engages it is still sluggish compared to when I first got it. And I keep up with all regular maintainence schedule and always used top tier gas. Can be really pronounced when going up a hill especially or overtaking whenever needing more power. Gets really annonying in narrow street 15 mile per hour steep hill neighborhoods. Sometimes it just the pedal just doesn't respond. The Dealer and manufacture continue to deny any problems.

I was thinking of selling it at the same price I got it at costco pricing(back in 2019) last year when used car prices were high and Carvana quoted a high price like that. but I were afraid I would not be able to buy another one without paying much higher prices. Now prices all of a sudden dropped back down to Earth. I am really puzzled what I should or should not had done.

I do notice having experience with Prius Prime and Mazda CX9 that maintainence and their updates does cause cars to perform a bit differently. But this Forester it seems they couldn't truely correct a problem they created after first service, it just comes back shortly they try to correct it thats why I ask whether others have the same experience as me. I do know one person I know who had a Forester said they were very satisfied but got complaints after they brought in for first service ie power windows stuck and squealing noises. I believe there is a dealership service problem with Subaru, but how to avoid being burned?
