Doubt that WRX did anything but nudge that truck... simple physics. It probably has a 1/10th the torque of that truck... torque is the only thing that will move it.

More like 1/4th or 1/5th of the torque of the truck, but hey!

It also depends on the engine the truck is running. There are so many engines for trucks that its mind boggling! Between Cummins, Detroit Diesel, M-B, International, etc, the choices are incredible.

The Icelandic method is one I'm fan of. Use a bungee cord, tie it to solid parts of the vehicles and set off as fast as you can.

umm that is dangerous you are supposed to take the slack out of the rope or chains before you attempt to pull someone out

The driver of the diesel was an absolute moron. Probably just showin off with his truck... stacks, blowing smoke... etc. When I pull people out with my Cummins, I put it in 4 low with the granny gear. You NEVER yank like that... its so stupid. If you cant get something out by slowly pulling it then you better wait for a winch.

yeah plus his buddy on the back of the jeep was not too bright either he ended up falling off the bumper and the onlookers were too close if that rope snapped off the axel or a piece broke off and hit someone it could of been alot more serious then just a broken dana 30 but it does give the owner a good reason to upgrade to a Dana 44 and buy a whinch...
