I have problems sleeping and I currently take the OTC generic drug Diphenhydramine and sometimes Doxylamine to get to sleep. Reason why I have two is because I got immune to Diphenhydramine (at least I think) and needed something stronger. The Doxylamine works, but I don't like what it does to me the next day. So, I've been told that I should try Melatonin because it's a natural sleep aid. When I go to the store they have 1mg, 2mg, and 5mg and I'm just not sure which one to get?

Start with 1 mg. It's potent stuff. I always seem to have extraordinarily vivid dreams when I take melatonin.

Don't take it if you will not be able to sleep for 8 hours undisturbed. Turn the TV off.

I get vivid dreams when I take Doxylamine too.

Thanks for the info. I'll get the 1mg tomorrow.

Just as an aside I thought I would share with you that the reason you get vivid dreams is due to the increase of serotonin.

Serotonin is created in the pineal gland, which is located just a little above the area directly between your eyebrows.

Ancient traditions place it exactly where the "third eye" is located.

Isn't it interesting that the place that creates the serotonin that gives you VIVID DREAMS, is exactly the same place where the third eye is located which allows you to "see into other realities and dimension".

I have always found this correlation to be very fascinating. YMMV
