Syracuse is in a good spot, because of the lower population and good natural amenities like water sources and open spaces.
But, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming are best states if you are so worried about these things because they have more open spaces to "escape" to.
I wouldn't worry about these things, but Joel Skousen is very smart, and a good listen. Although, he may be another "controlled" guy that has a business of selling housing to the super rich. His intentions might not be so pure here.
I think the thing that helps Syracuse in comparison to those 3 states is the fresh water aspect. Plenty to go around and it doesn’t get much in the way of extreme natural disasters.
