This is not a thread to DEBATE which is better. This is me telling you a story.
(Although, yes, I used that thread title to make you roll your eyes. Ha)
Please remember I LIKE THE iPAD. My wife has one.
I just PREFER to TWEAK so I like Android.
Anyone that reads my posts KNOW that I like both tablets. I even recommend Apple products to some people.
If this become another "versus" thread, I will delete.
These are my personal opinions.

Buddy Steve says "Hey Buddy... I am ready to take the plunge and get a tablet. Which one should I get?"
Me: "Android. Check out the new Samsung, or the ..."
Steve: "But everyone I know has an iPad. Must be better..."
Me: "It's marketing, Steve. How many Google tablet commercials have you seen?"
Steve: "I saw one on Yahoo once..."
Me: "I know you, you like to customize, the iPad will drive you nuts with the inability to customize it"
Today he sends me this. I love this.
Again, not to start a monster debate, but really when it comes to customizing, Android certainly does win that argument. Even the most diehard Apple head has to agree there.
Steve: "Wanted to look around and see if there were any sites dedicated to how to customize the Apple... check this out. It's almost sad. You were right".
He sends me this. A website where people show off the iPad, iPhone, iTouch homescreens.
lmao. Really?
Is that trying to be serious? Every one is the same.
Different icons (apps) arranged in different folders, on top of different wallpaper... Too funny...
He is buying the new Asus Transformer as I type...
I look at function before form. However, I've yet to even bother checking out any of the Android tablets. My free iPad 2 is so good that there hasn't been a need. I'll check them out when it's time to replace this one.

In order to "tweak" the iPad, most folks usually "jailbreak" it first...
"Most folks"... um, I don't think "most folks" Jailbreak (or root) their devices.
We "enthusiasts" tend to forget not everyone is like us. We are still the minority. I would hazard a total guess that MAYBE 20% of people root or jailbreak their devices.
Look around you. Look at your friends. I have many friends, and I support the phones in my office. I don't know a single soul that has a jailbroken or rooted phone.
The only one I know OF is a secretary at work whose son jailbroke his iTouch...
1 person... out of hundreds...
/edit/ Read out of context... my bad.
I suppose I should have read that like: "For people that want to customize the i-device, they jailbreak it..."
THAT may be true.

I've read the number is closer to 1%.
