I got a Nook tablet on Black Friday for $99. But what I really want is an iPad mini . But price is an object. Help?

What are your goals? What are you trying to accomplish with a tablet? What will the iPad mini afford you (that is important to you) that the Nook cannot? Answering these kinds of questions will help with the decision.

Based on the little information you provided, the Nook does not seem like the right product for you.

Okay, let me ask this in another way. Where do you feel that the Nook falls short?

If you wanted a Mini... you should have got a Mini.
One of the millions of reasons I love my wife. She tells me all the time "don't settle for a product you don't REALLY want".
In other words when I was looking for my own tablet I could have bought a semi decent refurb one for $200... but it REALLY wasn't the one I wanted. She told me "spend the extra $150 and get the one you want".
Good advice.

I keeping hearing its not a "real tablet" . Also I read how they took off side loading so you can no longer download from anywhere . I also seem apps are more expensive . I'll just bring it back

It sounds like you'll be happier with the iPad mini. There's plenty of free apps on the iPad so maybe you'll save money in the long run.

Have you considered a 7" Nexus? It can do everything the iPad Mini can do, as far as I know. And for a much more reasonable price. You don't need to pay more for added storage, because you can plug in an external hard drive and the Nexus will see it. And then you're not "locked in" to iTunes.

I have an iPad (not a Mini) and DH has the Nexus. If I wanted a smaller tablet I wouldn't pay the extra price for the iPad Mini.
