Hi,
I'm from Australia and I plan on heading to Tampa as part of a working holiday. I haven't organized any work as of yet as I plan to go in late October. I would like to work in the Fitness industry as I'm a gym instructor now but would also like to try bar tending.
How's is the job market in that area or just in general part time positions?
Will it be simple enough to find a part time job to support myself and earn some cash for a couple of months?
I plan on renting a place near Hyde park as I've read on the boards, it seems to be a good place for young people (I'm 21).
What would the price range be for somewhere in that area or where could I find shared living?
Also how is public transport as I don't plan on renting/buying a car.
Any information and help would be great!

Cheers

Not sure of the prices for rentals but here is a resource for sublets and temporary housing in Tampa:

tampa bay area sublets & temporary classifieds - craigslist

South Tampa/Hyde Park would be a great place for you to rent and to get out and about.

There is a bus sysytem, though I have not taken it. It might be ok if just traveling around South Tampa or downtown but I would not recommend relying on it, if for example you would like to go to Clearwater or St Petersburg for the beach or somewhere outside the immediate area.

Will you have a work visa where you can gain employment? I would also recommend looking through Craigslist, or maybe someone can chime in on bartending.

Thanks for the link! I'll have a good look at it.
How would you suggest one would get to the beach or sporting venues as I'm keen on watching a few football, baseball and ice hockey games?

I'm applying for a 1 year work visa.
