I know you guys very experts in using fishing rod and also fishing nets.

I was passing on Gandy towards St Pete, seen many people fishing with net on right side just after the bridge.

I was very surprised that they got plenty of fishes in one shot.

Does any body knows how to fish using net, is there any school that does traning ..

Thanks
Angelo

They're probably throwing cast nets to catch live bait. I'd start out with a 7 foot net, they sell them at Wal-Mart for around $20. I'm right handed so I hold net at top, with rope looped and end of rope secured around my right wrist. Bend down and grab one lead sinker and put it in your mouth as a holder, then with your left hand grab about 2 feet of net and hold it about an arm's length away from your body. At this point I'm standing with my feet pointing down the catwalk and my back pointing to the other end of catwalk. With one fluid motion (turn your whole body, your feet should end up pointing at the water in front of you) throw and release simultaneously the sinker from your mouth, the net your left hand is grasping, and net and rope in your right hand.

After some practice you should end up with a nice circular spread. I wouldn't let the net drop all the way to the bottom because there could be rocks down there to snag and tear your net, and definitely have a secure loop around your wrist so you don't lose the whole net while throwing.
