Has anyone seen flamingos around? I saw one today.. it was not a spoonbill, it was most definitely a flamingo. I thought they had been driven south and mostly out of Florida.

I thought it was incredibly cool. I wish I'd had my camera with me.

Any other flamingo sightings?

No Sea World employee; that I saw, anyway! It may have been an escapee from somewhere. We saw it take off and fly- really beautiful!

I see some (or the same one?) occasionally flying in the area around Brighthouse Field in Clearwater.

As far north as Tampa it is almost definitely an escapee. There have been a few sighted in the Everglades but those probably also came from elsewhere.

Default Neighbors Property

I saw one today in Belleair Bluffs and it wasn't plastic or a spoonbill. At first I was shocked but then I realized it must be from Tampa.
Because I know the nice folks from Seaworld Entertainment Inc have been such good neighbors by rounding up Florida's wildlife so they can kindly display & exploit them for us at their Beer Park in Tampa.
