I saw something online for a neighborhood in Palm Harbor about home owners fees. Are there home owners fees for single family homes here? Is that only in the little carved out neighborhoods like the ones in PH? What about St Pete?

Are you talking about Homeowner's Associations, AKA HOA's? If so, you usually find those in new developments, which will be all over, not just in Palm Harbor. Generally speaking you do not have them in older neighborhoods, and if you do they tend to be voluntary and just a nominal fee per year.

Correct, HOA fees. Thanks for the info. I'm not used to homes having those, even new ones, but I guess they do here.

Some HOAs are very strict, no parking your car in driveway, no work trucks, grass has to be green or certain type, no basketball stands left outside and many other restrictions. They can be good or bad. You have to paint your house certain colors or get approval to paint your house. Be sure you get all the info before you sign the dotted line. They also charge you for all this oversight.
