I call it by name, Coke, Pepsi, Sprite etc and i eat subs

I don't think i have one term for generic soda/pop i think i use them both without preference

Egg cream: A refreshing drink. Very popular (at least at one time) in NYC.

Its an ounce or so of U-Bet chocolate syrup (available at Publix), a couple of ounces of milk, then fine bubble seltzer mixed well from the bottom of the glass. Really need to use whole milk to get the "head" like on a beer.

Yes, in NYC we called them heros. Italian loaf bread was used. No other bread would do it.

I never heard it called anything else until I was out of NYC.
