I am strongly considering a move from Mississippi (the Delta area) to Tampa Fla. I have traveled and seen many cities but haven't found one that will enable me to advance but also live in a safe enough environment for my girls. I am a city girl and I would love for my children to be exposed to the unlimitless possibilities offered in life. Mississippi just doesn't cut it. Im not knocking it and maybe when I retire I will move back there. I need a change can someone give me some tips on nice areas in Tampa to reside with lots of things to do and great schools?

Can't speak for Tampa really, but you ought to try Seminole County, Fla in the Orlando area, since you seem to be open to anywhere, considering you posted in the Florida forum rather than the Tampa forum. Seminole County is the closest thing to a true "family" area in the entire state.It can be very single mom friendly. Tampa is not as family friendly in general. The job market is horrific down here though. I mean, it can NOT be as bad as Mississippi, but the cost of living here here is not on the same page with what an employer will pay you. Have a job rounded up before you get here. Seminole County has excellently rated schools and safe neighborhoods, and you are not far from Orlando, where you have TONS to do.
