So far thrift shopping has been a big hobby since moving to Tampa. Have basically furnished a lot of the house for next to nothing. I've been regularly making the thrift store rounds in South Tampa.

I go to:

Life's Treasures (pretty good for furniture)
Second Image (good for clothes)
Goodwill on Hillsborough (clothes are not on sale ever but has occasional furniture/houseware deals)
Salvation Army on Macdill (has pretty good furniture and good clothes)
Sunshine (is good for clothes and has okay furniture)
Goodwill in St. Pete off the Gandy bridge (has awesome deals on furniture.)

I've been to the Salvation Army in Brandon and the Salvation Army on N. Nebraska as well and like both of those places.

Are there any others that I've overlooked? Especially I'm interested in ones in South Tampa since there seems to be a cluster down there.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has thrift stores all around the TB area. Best for some good furniture finds.

Goodwill has a ton of stores in the area - not just the ones you mentioned....
Goodwill Industries International, Inc. - Store Locator

The economic times have made them very busy, it seems. I get kidded by family members because I stop by there and pick up a few things once-in-awhile. I've found some really nice tennis/golf shirts (Nike, Adidas) that don't look like they've ever been worn and cost about X10 less than what local stores sell them for.

Oh yeah, use the search function on this website, I think there are a few threads on the subject - specifically consignment shops.
