Congrats to Tampa, this is a huge event that will shine a spotlight on the Bay Area. I was in Boston for the 04 DNC and it was huge. Should bring in alot of $$$ for the local economy.

We'll have to get a few more stripper mobiles for the incoming GOP crowd.

^^that is absurd. That is as ignorant as flying that flag to begin with. This will be the best thing that happens to tampas economy since the superbowl, aside from the fact it is exciting the RNC will br right in our hometown.

They better step it up in the lesbian bondage themed clubs. Also might want to beef up the airport restroom security while they are at it...

As a lifelong, die-hard liberal, I say welcome the GOP and their convention to Tampa with open arms. Democracy is a beautiful thing, and if the other side of the aisle wants to spend their money in our town then it is good for both sides. I may not agree with their platform, but money is green no matter which side of the bill you prefer. Besides, this is beyond politics-- the fact that ANY party would choose Tampa is a mark of praise for this community.

Welcome, 'pubs!
