Is there a safe place reasonably priced to park car near Tampa Airport Year around. For the next 2 years we will be back in forth between Tampa & the Midwest & need a place to leave our car. Thank you

Might want to look into a self storage place that has a lot for vehicles.

I used to use a public storage place to store my car (inside a garage) for a year - it could fit the car and some household stuff (boxes). This was in another city up north while I was in the war zone. It cost me about $80-100/mo. Maybe there's a place near the airport, then taxi to from the airport to get there. Just a thought.

Or maybe there's a parking garage nearby offsite from the airport that you could use (ie shuttle from downtown Tampa using the bus - there's got to be a good, reliable bus route between those two points). Cheaper to use a bus over a taxi.

At the airport. Nowhere AROUND the airport is safe to leave a vehicle long term...

It's not a good idea to let any vehicles sit for too long. Even if someone just starts it up from time to time, beats having it just sit there.

If you're snowbirds and want to leave a car here why not leave the keys with a reliable neighbor who can watch the car and just start it up once every couple of weeks. Maybe take them out for a meal or pay them a little something for their effort.

And take a shuttle when you arrive back here.

@ $9/day that'll be pretty expensive to do over a 2 yr span.

That's why several people have given the OP options other than parking at the airport.

I'm betting there are storage facilities for snowbirds, with there being so many of them. I mean a covered place where perhaps the car could be put up on blocks, with the crankcase filled with oil (or whatever the modern equivalent of that is.) Or alternatively, start the car once a week, and *move it*. In this weather, it would be very bad for tires to sit in the same spot for months. We see people here who just put a cover on their car and leave it, but that can't be good for the car or the tires.

Try Self Storage - Storage - Moving Boxes - Storage Units At Public Storage . I found this by googling "car storage tampa bay".
