I Agree. This city should have Bike Trails around it entirely. I should be able to get on a trail here in Pasco County and ride my bike all the way down to the city if I chose to. Absolutely no reason not to make this a Culture of Health Issue.
Great Post Algia....wonder who we would have to convince to make this happen or get the city counsels looking at it.

Thank you Gulfer.

I don't know where to send a "formal" request...but I can tell you the day after we got back I took my bike out for a ride, and I swear I could have gone all the way to St. Pete and back if I didn't have to unpack!

I agree, we have wide open roads for the most part, so biking (as in with a bicycle) should be more encouraged.

I was just in Tampa a week ago and was surprised by all the bike lanes I saw. I thought that was really great. We really don't have much of that up here at all and if there is a bike lane it's pretty much just for a short stretch on one road here and there. Not sure what point there is to that.

I'm looking forward to making use of those bike lanes when I get down there for sure! I also hear there are some good paved trails down there too like the Upper Tampa Bay Trail. Apparently it's only ~7mi. long though but riding it to one end then the other will probably be more then I need for now until I get in better shape.

Bike trails are worth the money, IMO. Great way to improve quality of life, health, and interconnect ivory of neighborhoods.
