Can anyone confirm?
Is this a Black Racer or the Pygmy Rattler?

Did it have a small rattler? It's hard to tell from the picture.

Where do you live? Our vet said New Tampa has a lot of pygmy rattlers right now. I actually haven't seen a black racer since we moved here from S. Tampa. Tons in S. Tampa though.

I've also heard New Tampa has a lot of rattlesnakes, not just pigmy.

You always kill snakes. The Bible even talks about it and allows it.

They sell them in certain countries and used them for snake soup.

my two dogs (100 lbs) got bit by a large cottonmouth. They were both bit under their chins. It was the scariest thing in my life. They sat here in front of me with the poison taking effect. Sort of in a deep trance, with no emotion. I called them, and nothing, they just sat there and stared into space. It was so surreal. I thought they were going to die. Nearest vet was an hour away (it was at night). I waited it out and prayed. They lived. But I did not know if they were going to make it through the night. Either you take them to the vet immediately save their life, if not, after a couple hours if nothing happens, expect them to make it. That's what the vet said on the phone. I am so grateful they made it.

It is definitely a water snake. They are not poisonous and nothing to worry about.
