Looking at a job in Tampa. It is located about 10 milea NW of airport. Now researching to where to live. I am single and mid 40s. Looking for a nice safe place with some good amenities. Found some nice places over in channelside that look good on web. Thoughts on those or recommendations on other area to look at? Mybudget tops out around 1500 a month.

Thanks

10 min NW of TPA is where people like to live, if you can work there, that is an awesome opportunity.
Oldsmar, Westchase, Race Track road are all nice areas to live in.

Can you give us a better idea of where you will be working?

I would discount areas around Carrollwood, Northdale, Odessa, or Citrus Park either. You can be in a safe (all relative as crime occurs everywhere) area and still be close to some places to eat, hang out, catch a movie, have a beer, etc...

A friend of mine and his girlfriend live in a nice apartment complex close to Home Depot right off Dale Mabry and they really like it. His girlfriend works very close, he works in Land O Lakes, and they never had a problem.

I just moved here a month ago and found an apartment in Hyde Park. Most of the apartments around Soho are very nice. I haven't seen too many bad areas around South Tampa, but I'm sure they are around here. I hear that Channelside is a great area. You'd most likely be happy with a place there for your price range. I think you are already looking in the right direction.

There are 3 Hdepots on Dale Mabry- near 275, Northdale, & South Tampa?

I dont mean to pick on you, but that seems to be your blanket answer, Louis Ave Westshore area. Its not a nice neighbrhood I mean sure International Plaza is across the street, I guess if you stay in and out of your apartment you will be fine, otherwise the apartments are in Carver City, drive around Carver city go up and down Hubert or Manhattan then tel me how nice that area is.
