went to Aldi today. in tampa (town N country). spotted no luxury cars in the parking lot, but I did see plenty of old cars and one guy who looked homeless.
went into the store.
6-pack of hershey bars, same price as walmart.
nabisco snak paks, same price as walmart.
store was a disaster. trash strewn everywhere. no bacon in the refrigerated case where the sign said "bacon". empty boxes all over. grabbed some cheese and crackers and cookies and chocolate. headed to the cashier. there was a line of 10 people and only 1 cashier working.
after abut 20 minutes, i went to pay for my stuff and she tells me they don't take credit cards. i looked all over the store for a sign telling customers this and there was none.
tore open the box of chocolate covered cookies in the car.
they were so disgusting i stopped at the next gas station to throw them away.
i just had a bite of the chocolate and it is just cheap european chocolate that is not great quality. even a Lindt bar is better, and Lindt is bargain-basement european chocolate quality as well.
i have low expectations for the cheese and crackers.
i can't say that i would ever return.

I once tried to pay with credit card and was told no - used cash instead......very poor customer service, imo for them not to make sure you know this up front.

In the above scenario, sounds like some pretty bad management. How do managers like that keep their jobs with so many top-notch people looking for work?

In light of the current unemployment problem, you'd think those with jobs would be the cream of the crop or else.
