Hi, Is anyone familiar with 5 West apts on Net Drive in Tampa? I like the central location but I am wondering about the surrounding areas. Safety...traffic? Any info would be appreciated.

It's at the traffic corner for hillsborough and the veterans by the airport- not sure if the noise gets in -fairly brand new-- it's all commercial property around it, I moved further west. too much congestion right there. check out Lois ave/ Boyscout

Very congested and unpretty spot, but there is an entrance/exit onto George which is much easier than Hillsborough. They do have nice modern kitchens, but it's certainly not the only place in town for that sort of amenity. I'd keep looking if I was you.

Thanks. I was originally planning on getting a place up in Westchase but I have to commute to Sligh Ave in Temple Terrace, and it seemed a bit more than I wanted to drive...30 mins plus according to mapquest. The 5 West location looks like a straight drive down Hillsborough to TT. Do you know the names of any of the other apts close to 5 West, that may be situated in a nicer area?

I found that they also have a new property in Hyde Park called NoHo Flats. They look very nice, from what I've seen, but pricey.

That's near Hyde Park, but not in Hyde Park. And I'm not just splitting hairs. North of Kennedy is a less desirable area than south of Kennedy.

Thanks. How is North Hyde different? Is it less desirable in terms of safety?

Less safe, though not at all the worst part of Tampa. Also, much uglier and not really in stumbling distance of the bars.
