Well, there are several good churches and libraries around USF. There are lots of nice young ladies there, if your interested in courting.

There is gonna be a fun christian youth ministry program coming up in a week or two, where we help the homeless and volunteer to work in a shelter for a day.

Your welcome to join us if you want

By USF a few decent places are the Greenery, Gators Dockside, The Hangout Bar and Grille.

Most of Tampa's nightlife is in Ybor City, Hyde Park/SOHO, Channelside-Downtown, Bay Street-International Plaza. There are lots of smaller bars, pubs and restauarants scattered throughout South Tampa neighborhoods.

Downtown St. Pete also has good nightlife.

If you are into the live music thing, check out Gators on John's Pass over in Pinellas. It's kinda like a monster 3 story tiki with a lookout on top. They get really packed on weekend nights with the band playing. Cool place right on the water. It's THE place to go for nightlife on the beaches.

If you are going to Downtown Tampa, go to Channelside. I work at Splitsville. It's a pretty neat place. It's like an upscale bowling alley. Huge place. 12 lanes, 7 billiards tables, 3 huge bars. Channelside is a big courtyard of bars and restaurants. Great place to hang out for a night. Then there is Hyde park which is outside of Tampa. A long road of great bars to go to. Fun places! Take your pick!

I concur to all of that, but don't forget about Seminole Hard Rock Casino, with its new additions and the high-end club Floyd's which is open till 6 AM.

It's totally dependent on what you're into.

Ybor - Younger crowd, shifty area at night. Mostly hip-hop clubs, few gay clubs. Some great restaurants. King Corona cigar bar is top notch.

Hyde Park/Soho - 20 somethings crowd.. Great bars, more artsy (if thats possible in Tampa), great more upper-scale restaurants, etc. Hyde Park/SoHo is where it's at, presently. If you're a college kid, check out MacDintons. Relatively safe.

Channelside/Downtown - 30 somethings crowd. Honestly, not much going on down there IMO. I LOVE Howl at the Moon, but other then that, its mostly restaurants that try to do the club thing. Good movie theater. Stumps can be fun depending on the theme for that night. Relatively safe.

Bay Street/International Plaza - 30 Somethings too. Great food, great bars/pubs. Good place to be. Little upper-scale, cleaner.. Safe.

Seminole Hard Rock - I hate this place.. but its open 24 hours, and Floyds is open until 6. Keep in mind that Floyds tries to be up scale and you pay for it.. $20+ cover, $10+ drinks.. Bad music system, etc. It's a restaurant, that tries to do the club thing. More house and breakbeat and trance; hip-hop on Fridays.

All of these places have websites.. spend some time in google.

Tampa FL City Guide Tampa Florida Travel Guide & Things to do in Tampa FL is halfway decent too.

Pretty good overview, although the times I have been to Bay Street and Channelside the ages were younger than 30's. I mean there were some but to me it was more early-mid 20's for Channelside and for Bay Street I'd say mid-late 20's professional crowd. All of Tampa's nightlife districts are safe except for Ybor, and even at that if you're level headed it is fine. I'm an average-sized white guy and always go to Ybor in small groups and can't say I've gotten any trouble from anyone.

Agreed about Ybor. Been going there for years without incident. I just never recommend others to go.
