I will be moving to Palm Harbor in about 4 months and I have a short list of apartments. Does anyone have any insights into any of the following apartments? I have visited them all and they seem to be ok.

Stonegate
Sabal Palm
Lakes of Palm Harbor (use to be Country Place)
Twin Lakes
Bentley Cobbs Landing

Are there any others that you would recommend not on the list? I need to be in the Palm Harbor or Carwise middle school areas. I have a middle school aged kiddo.

thanks.

Without any hesitation I would recommend Sabal Palm. It's a nice community and the only one on your list that does not involve steady/daily usage of US19, which is a nightmare. The East Lake/Boot Ranch community is quite walkable too in terms of grocery store, shops and restaurants which is a nice perk.

Check out Egret's Landing. I work for the company that manages it (I'm in Ohio, though), and they're good to their residents. I've been in property management for 8 years and it's the best company I've ever worked for (so many property management companies are shady, but we follow the letter of the law). I visited EL when I came to TB in May and I loved it. Whenever I get the opportunity to move to TB, I'm going to live at EL, even if I'm no longer working for the company.

Which is also in the East Lake/Boot Ranch area. I agree it would be a good option too.

Twin Lakes sucks they dont enforce the rules and they will anyone live there if they have the money they can move in and with no background checks so stay away from there and the bugs in those apts are awful ...I now live in Ohio but getting out of here soon I hope as well but just stay away from them and do yourself a favor .

I recently moved out of Sabal Palm after a year there and would not recommend it-here are the primary reasons:
-Neighbors: I had to call the police 2X at midnight to get a neighbor's stereo turned down, it was blasting into my unit and vibrating the walls. There is also very high turnover in the complex, one of the units in my part of the building had 3 different tenants within a year.
-Bugs: German roaches in the kitchen even though I rarely cooked, mosquitos constantly getting into my unit (I had to buy a mosquito trap and run in all night to catch them, I must have had over 100 in there by the time I moved).
-Maintenance: I had a water leak in the closet and it took them 6 weeks to fix it and repeated phone calls, it seemed like they didn't think it was important even though it was getting the carpet wet and I had to move my clothes out
-Management: I moved out 6 weeks early and wanted to simply pay the final six weeks in advance and return the keys. I was told if I did that there would be a significant early termination fee. I checked my lease and couldn't find anything about that but could never get a straight answer from the assistant manager, all she would say is 'it is more complicated than that'. Actually, it isn't-I have an MBA and know how to read a lease.
-Traffic: there is only one road out of the complex and going north on East Lake Road is virtually impossible, you take your life in your hands every time you try to cross the 3 lanes coming at you. Figure on at least a 5 minute wait for the light at N Boot Ranch Blvd to turn red and for a very brief respite from southbound traffic-hopefully the northbound cars won't run you down when you try to merge.
