chances are good --teach the kids how to recognize the poisonous ones---

fla is full of snakes---but the human ones are the most dangerous--lol!

If you have a pond or wetlands (swamp), bugs, birds and frogs your going to have snakes. And you'll have them in your house eventually.

I have heard people finding them in their garage and in their house. I have scattered moth balls and snake bait in the garage in an attempt to keep them out.

I am terrified of snakes but a black racer won't hurt you. I would probably hurt myself running away from it LONG before it hurt me.

i discovered to my surprise that the ones that have come into my home and garage were not afraid of people and actually came towards me despite the loud screaming(on my part) and the menacing shovel(i've learned it's a great snake killer---use a combination of bashing and screaming)

I had one in my closet one time. Thank goodness i wasn't home to find it but my husband was. it was a harmless snake. Our cat and dog just stood there looking at it as it if was nothing. You know what's scary that also happened to me is having a snake inside your car and having to drive across state not knowing if it got out or not. We ended up taking it across state and back home with us unknowingly until we finally found it in the trunk with our luggage when we were unpacking.

even though i am afraid of snakes i could never kill one. guess i'd have to gently sweep it out of the house? or get a guy who is willing to pick it up (as long as it's not poisonous).

Sounds like a sequel to Samuel L. Jackson's movie. "Get these motherf-ing snakes out of this motherf-ing house!"
