My fiancée & I were thinking of moving down to Florida from Massachusetts after we got married. My company has 2 offices. One by Orlando & one in Clearwater. I believe if I transferred I would have to go to the office at least a few days a week. I was wondering if anyone could give me a sense of what it's like in this area in terms of the type of people, the amenities, and just the general vibe. Our goal is to try it out for a few years while we're young. If we like it we'd want to stay & raise a family. So if anyone can recommend good towns with good schools it would be helpful.

If you are working in Clearwater youd be better off looking for communities on the Clearwater side of Tampa bay as commutes from Tampa can be brutal.
You might want to look into the Dunedin area.

Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and Seminole come to mind when I think of areas for young families and even St. Petersburg Old Northeast neighborhood has some kids I think but you might have to put kids in magnets or charters.
