Anyone have any knowledge on small rural towns North of the Clearwater area? I have looked at Citrus county, yet even there it seems to be ' gulf retirement' living. Not the small town atmosphere I am looking for.

Would be will to go as far as 100 moles north, any further the winter temperatures would be too cold for me. I am looking for a nice brick ranch style hoe, without vaulted ceilings, and carpet, definitely not tole, except bathrooms and kitchen. mainly I am looking fr large bedrooms and living-room, and older home which meet this criteria would be better than the new style homes. No pool is possible.

If you dislike boring un-hip locations and know any such areas, you could help me by recommending places you dislike. Quiet and boring are a plus! Looking for a low crime area; one safe enough to have low burglary rates. Personal safety is not a concern.

I have a condo in Clearwater I am keeping when I desire some excitement, I am able to access it there.
