Tough to say, around mid October you will notice that there will be some warm but not balls to the wall hot days. September is typically the most miserable month weather wise.

I agree. October is still very warm and unpleasant. Right now, it is 90, humidity is at 58% and dew point is 74 (experts say a dewpoint over 68 is "uncomfortable").

Not sure how those numbers compare with your home state? I know Louisiana can be brutal as well.

When do temps start to drop into 80s average vs. 90s? My sweet spot is highs in mid 80s and lows in mid 70s.
Maybe October between the hours of 9 pm to 8 a.m.

12/22 9pm until 12/26 8 am. Actually it does get cool at nights in the winter months and it's very refreshing. I hear this is among the hotter years in recent memory.

I would say the days are still scorching hot and humid with constant threats of vicious storms until the 3rd week in October, give or take a week. You can see slightly milder mornings and nights in mid October. August and September are awful with pounding rains in the height of the tropical storm season. By the time the weather really changes in early mid November people just look drained, worn out and gasping for cooler temps.

Default Weather or not...

[quote=JSnFla;44708675]I realized the same thing but after almost 15 years I am realizing it is more enjoyable to have nice weather over the summer when everyone is in the spirit of being outside and doing things and the days are long. In Tampa the summer spirit doesnt exist, people are beat down from the oppressive heat and the mild weather over the winter just isnt the same as the beautiful long summer days and the vibe that goes with it. Our mild winters come with shorter days, dark by 5:30 in december, hectic holidays, tourists and transients everywhere, cold fronts every week or so and its just not the same as the beautiful summer season and vibe up north. The tradeoff is the tough winter in ny which is basically late december thru march these days. Those that flee to florida solely for weather are usually the most unhappy with their decision unless they go elsewhere over the unbearable summer months. There is no glorious traditional summer here its a survival test at best, you can see it on peoples faces.[/QUOTE

I am also from Upstate NY (way up, north of Syracuse) and while my relocation isn't purely climate change (pun intended) the winter of 2014-15 was so brutal it convinced us to move here permanently. My husband lived in the Tampa area decades ago and I had a four year stint in Orlando, so we weren't total FLA newbies. We were fully moved down here last November, and experienced the warmer than normal Fall here. Right now, as the average daily temps seem to be settling into the low to mid 90's with high humidity and UV index, I have to say that we are both amazed how well we are adapting. Yeah, you have to embrace the fact that being sweaty is as normal here as it was to be shivering up North.
As lovely as the summer could potentially be in NY, it was brief and fickle. Here we can count on having sunshine vs. days of overcast or drizzly weather. We were boaters and bikers and it was close to impossible to plan ahead based on the weather. Everyday here we wake up and look out at blue skies and puffy clouds, experience the drama of a passing through thunderstorm. As the French say, à chacun son goût, to each his own taste. We have just learned to walk slowly and sweat gracefully.
