Default St. Augustine, Palm Coast area vs. Dunedin, Safety Harbor

Hi-we are thinking of making a move (within FL) and know that this is a very broad question, but does anybody have first-hand experience living in both of these areas? We're interested in the following:
1) weather (general high/lows)
2) congestion
3)housing costs
4)taxes
5)any cultural outlets (symphony, pops, theater, etc)

Again, we know this is a very unspecific question, but just trying to get a rough idea between the two areas.
Thanks

My parents lived in Safety Harbor. It was nice, but pretty much the same as clearwater/Tampa.

Palm Coast/ Saint Augustine is colder than Safety Harbor/Dunedin in the winter. There is actually frost, and this year even a few snow flurries!

What it comes down to for most people is cost of living, jobs, and if they like the ocean, or the Gulf of Mexico. I found the Safety harbor area to be more like a city lifestyle, and Palm Coast area to be a little more suburban. I hope this helps.

Been to Dunedin but not aware of Safety Harbor.
1. I would say St. Aug/Palm Coast cooler than Dunedin area. Low was down to 29 or 31 in Palm Coast. Very nice winter up this way.

2. While there is traffic in Palm Coast it's nothing compared to a larger metro area. People will complain about it but we have pretty good roads here.

3. Home prices have come way down in Palm Coast and very nice homes are selling for between $140k to $180k. They're all down so just depends on what you are looking for. Not sure about prices in St Aug but prices have gone down everywhere.

4. Property taxes while not ever cheap are lower than St. Aug in St. John's County and also the county to the south of Flagler.

5. Symphony, plays etc....while there is some of that here in Palm Coast the majority is in Daytona and Jacksonville.

If you need a job here be sure to get your job first and then move. Hope this helps.
