Thoughts ?
Looking at buying a condo around the Tampa area and there's a couple of good deals at this location.I see it's fairly close to South St Pete's rough areas but it looks to be a gated community with some pretty good reviews from visitors who have rented apartments and other permanent residents who seem happy.
Genuine opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

These were originally rental apartments converted to condos. If you are looking for a good deal they are certainly inexpensive compared to some places. It is horses for courses, depends on what you are looking for.

Yes I read those but all are a little out of date.
Overall they get mixed reviews but I just wondered if anyone actually lived there.

I recently showed some properties to a client in St. Pete in that exact area. The gated communities are ok and yes, my client was 'iffy' about the surrounding area. That being said, there are a lot of properties turning over in that area. Investors are coming in, renovating many of the single family homes and driving the prices up. One of the houses I showed my client was absolutely gorgeous with a back yard that was landscaped like a tropical paradise. Unfortunately, the neighbor was blasting AC/DC while we were there and that was a deal breaker for my client.

My best advice to you is go drive around the area you are looking in and go there after 5pm and also on a weekend...Friday night, Sat night and Sunday afternoon. If you have a dog, bring it along (or borrow a friend's dog), park your car and walk around the area. Get a feel for it and that will help you make your decision as to whether you feel comfortable in that neighborhood or not.

That's exactly what I did before I moved. I walked my dog around and spoke with neighbors. You can get a lot of great information that way.

Hope this helps!

tmpa pam, what exact area near there do you speak of? I've been around and around and around coquina (which is quite nice) but all looks the same.
