Great Hammocking weather!

Re: fitness level. I feel that I will be able to complete it in general, but I would like to have a decent time in doing so. I did a 5 miler in 34:59 and a 5K in 20:31, but, that was about 3-4 years ago, and my times and overall shape have dropped precipitously since then. Being near a college campus that has near 24 hour fitness center with constant free classes, training groups, etc, certainly has it's perks. Speaking of which.. I have been wondering aloud for a decent bit whether there are any indoor tracks in the area... I would imagine USF does?? My most recent race I barely broke 50 minutes in a 5 miler (again, a huge drop off). My goal over the next 6-7 weeks or so, is to get to a point where I can go out with hopefully a group pacing at about a 9 minute (give or take) mile up the bridge, and then, coming down (watching my quads of course), but seeing at least if I can't reclaim some form and be relatively near 50 minutes or so (anything under 55 is fine, and frankly, I'm there as much as anything for the views, so even if I come in around an hour, as long as I'm not miserable in terms of how I'm feeling, I'll be a happy camper.

I'm trying to keep track of my lists of things I plan to do because though I'm busy with work/school, I have to remind myself to get out and smell the roses when it's possible to. I think I plan to hit up a Spring Training game at some point also.

This weekend's market downtown St Pete is being moved due to the Grand Prix prep. Lots of music, food, crafts, etc etc....

Saturday Morning Market | The heart of St. Petersburg

The St Petersburg Saturday Morning Market is open from October to May every season (Oct 7, 2017 - May 26, 2018).
Market is open from 9am - 2pm.
To accommodate preparation for the Grand Prix car race, we will move to Williams Park on March 3. The Park is just 4 blocks away, at First Ave N. and 3rd St.
We are closed on March 10, due to the race. We then return to Al Lang on March 17
.

I've enjoyed the practice day (Fri). I recommend it over the race day....you get to walk around where the mechanics are working (paddock?).....see all kinds of different vehicles, trucks practice. Really a good day. I think tickets are cheaper as well. I believe parking is at the Trop and there's a shuttle that takes you to the gate. Worth a day to visit. I think there are people selling their tickets cheap as well in addition to box office.

You must be 20's or 30 to like that area. I never even liked driving thru there in the 80's let alone drink there. I am going on our Vette cruise Sunday well to the east of Polk county with around 40 other Vettes and do some 150+ mph runs on the back roads. Don't even remember what county is east of Polk.

I have owned a string of Corvettes over the past 40 years and have had memberships in many clubs.
I have never heard of any organization where driving at 150 mph, or close to it, took place anywhere except on tracks with drivers with NCCC high speed licenses. 150 mph on any "back roads" would be illegal, suicidal, brainless and potentially homicidal.
