I noticed on google maps there is this sort of parking lot ish building. It was on North Florida Ave. In downtown Tampa. It was right beside zack street. Is it opened its looks abandoned from the google view. Im just wondering because i start work next week and im wondering if i can park there. Are there any shops that i could stop at near the area or around it. From the google view it looks like it is right behind the Tampa Theador and a couple old storefronts. Im just wondering since im at Panama City this week with my family i probulay wont have time to check.

Just about every lot in downtown is either privately owned or 717 Parking operates it. You're not going to be able to park for free downtown, if that's what you're looking to do.

If I understand your description correctly, the lot you're talking about is privately owned by the Tampa Theater and is for their office building clients and the bank and law firm next door, as I walk by it regularly on my way to lunch.

The closer you are to the downtown area the more expensive the lots are. If you don't mind walking a few blocks up Florida Ave., 717 has a couple of lots up that way that are cheaper than the ones direct downtown.

You CAN park for free Downtown, you just can't do it during business hours. Weekends and after 6:00pm, street parking is free.

As you move away from the center of downtown the lots get cheaper, even the ones managed by 717. I think they have some lots on Florida that are closer to 275 that are as cheap as $3/$4 a day.
