I'm moving to St.Pete in June/July with my 7 yr old son and my boyfriend. I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on areas to live in and areas to stay away from. Also what elementary schools are good. Please help

I don't have kids so I couldn't tell ya about schools but St Pete in general... I'd stay north of Central Ave. The south side isn't a very good area.

Actually, I disagree with that blanket statement. Sure, there are a lot of parts in South St. Pete that aren't as nice, but you leave all of that behind once you get near the beach. Just look at the houses near Ft. DeSoto beach. You just have to go farther south, past 22nd Ave S, I can't vouch for anything between Central and 22nd. Also, the houses are more affordable on the South side. I know many people who have beautiful homes in nice, safe neighborhoods on the South side.

You just have to look around for yourself. It will be obvious when you come across an area you wouldn't be interested in. Also, there are many condos on the south side, closer to the beaches.

The closer you get to the water, the more expensive obviously. I lived in Pasadena Yatch and CC in Gulfport which is a gated community, but is surrounded by a not so good community bordering on 22 Ave SOUTH. PYCC however is pretty expensive but they have some condos in an area called Kipps Colony. The single family houses are probably too expensive, but I don't assume anything about your financial assets, that would be stupid of me ! also try Tierra Verde or Isla Del Sol
Could you decipher some of the shorthand please? I've lived here over 20 years and have NO idea where you are talking about! lol
