Hi all, I have WOW internet and cable and quite honestly it is poor at best. Was wondering if anyone would share what cable and internet provider you use and if you would or wouldn't recommend that service. Thank you

This thread is going to be ugly, as I'm sure that both providers in the area have their detractors.

For me it's Frontier, as they go out of their way to scr*w you on price no matter how it works out. I threatened to leave them earlier this year and they gave me a bunch of "discounts". I get my new bill and discover that the "discounts" they gave me dropped the price of a roughly $200 bill to about - wait for it - $195!

Seems that the "discounts" I had been getting previously from my original Verizon contract were factored in right off the top. Frontier quoted me inflated prices, then gave me "discounts" off of those prices.

I called and raised heck, but it led to almost nothing. I'm getting ready to move, and when I do I'll change over to Spectrum.

Jerks.

RM

I could go on, but just executing the change that Frontier offered took four months and many calls to their billing department to even get right to begin with. They acknowledged the changes in my account but no one ever implemented them. Until I called, of course. And then it took another couple of billing cycles for them to get everything right.

I would suggest that they appear to have the intellectual agility of the Three Stooges, but that would be an affront to the Three Stooges.

Wait'll you try to cancel your Frontier account, you are in for a real treat. Even if you cancel within the proper time frame, you will still get a bill with no explanation of what the charges are for. When you contact them, they will reduce it. But they'll still charge you for something. It'll be a nuisance amount.

No surprises there. At least it gives me something to look forward to, right?

Yes. Plan on paying about $50.00, that seems to be their exit fee. The threat being that if you don't, it goes to collections and you don't want that on your spotless credit report, now, do you?

We use Spectrum here in Illinois and will be signing up with Spectrum when we get down there in a couple of months.
