My family and I live in Trinity. My relative is looking to downsize and move closer to us. I’d be fine for her to live in Trinity or the good parts of NPR, just not my neighborhood. She doesn’t want to be that close either, but we agreed everywhere else is fair game… She could be as close as three minutes away by car or up to 25 minutes away.

She has a large breed dog, so would prefer a property that allows fencing. I guess one neighborhood, Heritage Lakes, does not allow fencing, so that’s become important. She wants the option of an enclosed area on days when walking the dog is simply not an option. It’s unfortunate that her search is taking place during such a sellers market because houses are going like hotcakes, but it is what it is.

-max 275k, but would prefer to stay closer to 250k or under due to retirement
- no more than 1900 sq. Ft, no less than 1200 sq. Ft.
- Single story strongly preferred.
- Is not opposed to a 55+ but has reservations, namely the belief that people move there to die ( I believe she is coming around though, because she will at least consider them ).
- Does not want to live in a “vibrant” location or a run down or drug area (my requirement).
- Safe and as low crime as possible is preferred of course.
- Is willing to be as south as Trinity Boulevard and go as north as State Road 52, but would prefer to be within 5-15 minutes of the sun coast/veterans, preferably to the west, but slightly east is ok.
-Easy maintenance or low maintenance yard, so no properties with big lots.
Looked into land O Lakes east of the sun coast on 54 and was sorely disappointed, so that area is out.

Can anyone recommend any specific neighborhoods to look into, as well as ones to steer clear of? Holiday and Port Richey are out of the question. Most properties near or west of US 19 are out of the question due to the higher probability of sinkholes and flood zones . Any suggestions are appreciated.

Also can anyone give me any cons about US 41 and State Road 52? I know the jail is located around there. It appears they are putting some new homes in that area that has piqued my relatives interest. I don’t particularly want her to live out there but I can’t really justify why I feel this way, so I’m hoping someone can help me out. Truth be told if it was up to me she would live within 15 minutes of us .
