Hi there everyone,

I am looking to find a place that has lot of arches and clean nice lines, pretty flowers etc. for a photo project....a garden of some sort...not an amusement park...but rather something much smaller but with lots of character...Any ideas of such parks/garden (s) around?

Thank you much,
Alex

My first thought was to laugh and say no way, Tampa is a Concrete City. But that's my cycnicism. I do not know of such a wonderful place, but you could try the USF botanical gardens or maybe Plant Hall at the University of Tampa, which has Plant Park in front of it. Sarasota has some gorgeous parks and gardens.

YOu would find exactly that in downtown Lakeland - the Lake Mirror park which features Hollis Gardens - it is a classical garden with all kinds of beautiful flowers, plants and columns, etc. Just exactly what you asked for.

Hollis Garden (http://www.lakelandgov.net/parkrec/Parks/HollisGarden.html - broken link)

If you are willing to go as far as Lake Wales, check out Bok Tower. If memeory serves, there is a lovely park/garden setting there.

Pinellas County Florida Botanical Gardens

Sunken Gardens

Would either one of these places work?

Sunken Gardens may actually work, and so do the Pinnelas County Botanic Gardens, time is limited and I don't think I can make it to Lakeland...I've been to the USF Botanic Gardens and haven't seen any arches...structures I mean...

Thank you very much,

Alexandra

I second the Botanical Gardens in Largo, there is a great Rose Garden area, it's pretty big, lots of art structures there as well(There is an art museum attached to the Gardens and also Historical Heritage Center.)
