I live in the Broadwater area and my zip code is 33711... The houses in my neighborhood run over 400,000 and most people there are nuclear families or single professional adults...The zip code to avoid is 33712, this is a generally high crime area. Go on Saint petersburg times websit and you can find out demographic info....Good Luck

Hi. I noticed you said one should avoid south of central ave, unless it's south of 22nd St S. I am looking to move to St Pete and had found some houses for sale in the area south of Central Ave and north of Gulfport Blvd, 22nd St S, namely on Date Palm Ave S, on La Plaza Ave, and on Park St S. I would appreciate it very much if you could let me know whether these areas are considered safe or not.
thank you.

I would avoid downtown and midtown St. Pete. It has declined over the past few years. All of the shops are closed and homeless are everywhere.

Those areas are safe. That's the Pasadena part of town. Some of those streets might even be in the City of South Pasadena, which is a small city right before the bridge to St. Pete Beach.

I didn't think a kid-oriented activity that exists purely for fun required such official organization and timekeeping.

I lived in the 33711 zip code in Maximo and moved to Lakewood Estates 5 years ago which is in 33712. Maximo and Broadwater are wonderful safe neighborhoods. If you go to the crime sites you can see that Lakewood Estates also has very very low crime.

I think you are wrong to blanket the entire zip code as crime ridden just as some other posters have said 33711 is an undesirable area. I have lived in South St Pete for over eight years now and find that both zip codes are great choices for anyone moving to St Pete. I would be careful of some neighborhoods north of Central though

This is the site I use for tracking crime. Welcome to CrimeReports.com
