It took a real epiphany for me to get past looks in a relationship.

I dated a guy who was 6'1" & 140 pounds, who was horribly scarred by acne and whose hair (what was left of it) did whatever it wanted to do. He kept asking me out and I was bored so I kept going out with him. A couple of months it hit me like a ton of bricks: if he asked me to marry him, I would say yes. I had fallen for HIM and looks be damned.

I didn't marry him, but I looked at every one I dated after that very differently. If I had gone with the first impression, I would never have fallen in love with him. After that, no one got ruled out on looks alone. But I never gave a jerk a second chance, no matter how good looking he was.

My husband and I have been married over ten years. It wasn't looks that brought us together but common interests. Of course, everyone is not looking for a mate, and that's ok, too.

I've had my best luck down in the Baywalk area. Sure, you'll find some real sea donkeys down there too, but there is no shortage of attractive women.

Excellent!

It's been my experience that the fancier the wrapper, the lower the quality of the product inside. (But I live in Naperville, Illinois for now - ground zero for vain, shallow, selfish and snotty but attractive women. Always a crisis trying to find a decent nail salon, y'know!)

But one has to have *some* chemistry so no sea donkeys, please.

My friend, I think you are looking for Mons Venus.

Oh I'd love to go to that place, but I think they still allow smoking in those places don't they? Too bad, I'd like to see some beautiful women AND breathe. It's alright, the classy women I like usually don't go for smokers anyway.

Good question. The clean air act gives an exception for "stand alone bars." I think this is intended to mean places that don't serve food- in other words, no smoking at your local Applebee's just because they've got a bar. I could see Mons passing as a stand alone bar.
