I like that 3 accidents and you loose the license, so long as you can get it back after attending a remedial driving course and passing it sucessfully.

Sorry to hear about the kid getting hurt. 3 years. Jeeze. So the young, insured, licensed driver caused the accident, not a uninsured unlicensed one.

They take drunk drivers off the road, but the car has to be picked up by someone quick or the arresting agency has to take the responsibility of towing and securing the car. There is no law on the books that says that impound your car in a moving violation situation in the state of FL.

What she did, I bet you she must have had more accidents...I think a drivers license should be taken and also a very high fine if she had 3 at fault accidents...if not being paid than jail time...this girl was driving daddy's car so impounding would not have been a solution...she would get into some one elses car...but impounding is okay with me, aything to get bad an drunk drivers of the road.

These things you mention, "guy/gal on Dale Mabry alone that was either on the phone, shaving, putting on make up...and generally doing other things than driving" are not illegal in themselves. You couldn't get a ticket for any of them.

What are you suggesting impounding cars for?

It would be nice if everyone kept their mind on the driving an not a half dozen other distractions, but that is not the real world.

YOU were the one who brought "kids" into the subject matter not me.
I had other things to think about when I was in high school besides
impounding cars. You don't see me complaining about kids because I made a choice not to produce any. I feel wiser for my choice.
Too many kids out there with parents who don't give a damm and that is another thread altogether.

Not suggesting imponding their car for those, but those a sure worthy of some expensive fines....it is not my fault one can't get up 5 minutes early and use their own bathroom to shave or put make up on....accidents won't happen as often if people will actually respect traffic rules and keep their eyes on the ROAD!

Your comment about being "wiser for having kids" is out of place entirely in this thread...I have this opinion about impounding cars since I was in high school...way before thinking of having kids...My mom had her car impounded once for parking 5 minuted over the meter....back in '86...but I have to tell you, there must not be that many "wise" people in the world because if there were and they all skipped the kids we would still be in the Stone Age!!!! I am sure your parents must feel really good to know that carrying you for 9 months didn't make them any wiser LOLOLOLOL like THAT would be the reason that people are keep having kids....LOLOL That was funny!

Please go back and read the thread from the beginning.......all the violations that I suggested impounding for already exist in the US already and the rest of the world, minus Florida......Florida has very lax rules about driving......did you know that you can take that class online for like $10 bucks and then go back out and continue the bad behavior that got you into that from the beginning? sending someone to take a "driving course" AFTER an accident or 3 is so useless and retarded it's not even funny! traffic rules were created to protect people and to enable traffic to move along and not clog........Tampa has some terrible drivers, worst than SFLA, which neither hubby or I ever thought was possible.....after the 3rd accident you might not be alive to take that class........then what?

Of course I mentioned kids, people need to stop assuming Tampa is populated by retired people with no kids that are waiting to die.......

Ok. So Florida doesnt do it. Thank God. I wouldn't put up with it. I'd sue them for taking my property illegally. There should be no mechanism in the law to take someones property with out just cause. A driving infraction is not just cause.

OK, dont send them to driver school. Just put them in jail. Forget I ever brought it up.

I find no problem driving in Florida, any part of it. Its all the same.
I find no problem driving in any state. Its all the same.

The violations that you suggested impounding for does not exist in all the U.S.

Colorado voters shot it down.

Colorado: Voters Reject Mandatory Vehicle Impound

Looks like they are as smart as Floridians.
