they are the ppl who moved here and realized salaries suck......lolololol

But seriously, this is abusive and ppl should sue Verizon in masses....there is NO RIME OR REASON to be charged a termination fee! it goes against every liberty out there! I should be able to cancel my account at anytime, not be forced into a contract and penalized if I want to cancel it due to say "job loss", and instead have collections trying to recoup that fee! these practices are unbelievable to me in this age where cell phones are as popular as brushing teeth!!!!!!!

and charging $400 for a phone is also ridiculous these days as it is probably the biggest commodity!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder who these horrible customer service people are because they people in my neighborhood are nice but work at Verizon, they claim to do a different job over there and by the way 2 already left them for other companies....

Maybe the customer service people never will admit they are working there

How come they get away with this monopoly and how come we can't have more than just Brighthouse and Verizon?

I had DirecTV and loved it during that short stint. My bill was always the same too, until they jacked the rates up 30%, then wanted to charge me hundreds in early termination fees when I told them to stick their equipment where the sun doesn't shine.

Over-the-Air digital TV and bit torrent are the only way to go now. Both cable and dish compress their HD signals so you're not even getting the full quality that you would over the air!

I've done sales for Comcast, Verizon, and DirecTV, and IMO DirecTV is the way to go for TV and Verizon is the way to go for Internet.

Yep, that is exactly what we have.

I just arrived at St Pete, and I think that Brighthouse over charges for installation (wireless is 149), but if you go for their bundle, its 50. Either way you are screwed.
I may have to go with them but was thinking...supposed I go with Brighthouse for internet only then go with dish(39/mo), how might that work out? Probably the exact same, since Brighthouse charges 70 bucks for internet only.
What are the monthly rates for having Verizon internet AND Direct TV? Because it sounds as if I will go that route

Just FYI, Verizon is now offering service with no contract. I just switched back to them after several months with Bright House. I got phone, internet, and cable for $88/month, including taxes. No contract.

We just have the basic cable package, I don't even know how many channels. FAR too many for me, but none of the special ones that other people may want.

Be aware that if you have any kind of satellite service, you will have to pay a special tax in Florida. I cannot remember the exact name of it (Communications Sales Tax?) but it is around 15%! Many other states have no such tax, and those that do have a much lower rate. Florida is the highest. Go figure.

Good Luck hopefully you are just as happy after getting the bills. Most people never complained about the connection or quality of the Verizon cable...but the hassle of dealing with their customer service when the bills come in and mostly you get billed wrong. Some people will never notice since they never look at their bill and just pay... these are the happy Verizon customers...

Their customer service isn't for nothing in the top of the worst customer service companies.

Pick one or keep reading all day long...Hopefully you have more success.

My husband is a project manage for Hillsborough County and has to deal with Verizon - he says they are a nightmare.

We have Brighthouse bundle and have been very pleased with our service. Very few problems and great customer service. As others have mentioned, be aware that those communications taxes can add up, and your bill won't be as low as you thought.
